guest post: sunshine coast

30 Mar

Some of the most beautiful forest and coastline is along the coast of British Columbia. Sunshine Coast is a great place to take it in for a few days. There are nice shallows that warm up significantly in the summer, so you can enjoy the dramatic scenery of the Pacific Northwest and still find a little sand and some saltwater that isn’t too cold to swim in. There are also some lovely family owned businesses in the area that offer cozy hotels and rentals, spa treatments, and access to amazing scuba diving, kayaking and hiking. The service I have experienced here is simultaneously warm, low-key, laid back, attentive and friendly. It manages to hit this incredible balance, making guests feel relaxed and comfortable while taking a backseat to¬†natural beauty of the area. The best places to stay here are nestled into rocky hills and wooded nooks and they open out to breathtaking views and experiences of the surrounding landscapes.

For a family or couple looking for a wood cabin, a wood stove and a full kitchen, try Creekside Cottage:
For those who want some extra pampering try the Tuwanek Hotel (technically a bed and breakfast):
